Pristine's patterns use even-count
peyote. To help keep tension and quality consistent,
we use forms for our peyote stitchwork. We use an
adjusted-to-fit tissue paper roll as a form for
an amulet bag (see howto video), and add a back
to the bag by stringing on double (104 vs 52) the
number of beads called for in the pattern. It is
your choice whether you use just the background,
another color, or put a second design on the back.
We use the Bic lighter itself as a form for the
lighter cover, When finished with your beadwork
for the bag, use the beginning tail (about 12 inches)
to stitch the bottom of your bag closed. The beads
will fall together like zipper teeth. Then weave
the tail end up into the bag for security.
