Length of Thread
The working length of your thread is
one of the most personal choices there is in bead
work. We all use different lengths. One beader (a
cat owner) uses about 18” of thread at a time;
she says it is the only way she can get any bead
work done. Around here we vary from about three
to six feet of thread (one to two arm pulls), about
eight to ten feet of thread (three or more arm pulls),
to about 12 to 15 feet (four to five arm pulls).
To help you make a thread length choice, we measured
and found that it takes about 42 feet of thread
for the main body of the amulet bag.
